I get this message below the message pane, right above the tabs.  I have 
never seen it before, can you tell me what it means?

Exit codes of > 128 mean that the process quit because of a signal (it's 
interpreted as 128 + signalnum).

In this case, signalnum is 1 == SIGHUP, which means the controlling TTY 
was closed.
