missing crt1.o file

Hi.  I have been unable to compile any of the demo cpp programs from Kylix 3 Open.  The linker complains :
   Linker Fatal Error: Unable to open File 'crt1.o'
Can anyone tell me where this file is (I could not locate it with the find command anyplace on my hard drive.)
If not, could someone email it to me?
