The sql designer in VDB7 is giving me problems. And as you know SQL is where it is at in VDB7. My greatest difficulty is the inablity to get any return with using the LIKE compare. For example under criterion field I enter a character field by dragging from the database, choose like as the compare and enter a value in the third column. When running the query I get notified "Database Error. Operation not applicable". What is going on? I read the accompaning CD on using SQL and this should be allowed. If I use the "=" compare I can find data. But according to the CD the LIKE compare with its ability to use "%" and "_" is really what I want to use on this character field. (much more flexible) Also occasionally pressing f12 to look to activate "code view" (2 way tools) the SQL designer causes a GPF. Sometimes the SQL designer just drops all the information entered in the "criterion" even if you've pressed save, and exit.
