SQL is a good thing to know, and you can add a lot of power with some simple sql statements. However, using the database objects you can have most or all of the functionality (and in some cases more) without really knowing _any_ SQL. For example: Drag a table onto a form. You have just placed a QUERY object on the form. Did you have to know any SQL? No. Want to change the order of the rows in the query you just placed on the form? Click on the query, go to the inspector, click on the Rowset object, click on the 'inspect' button. Now you're looking at the details for the rowset. To change the order, click on IndexName, and select the drop-down (combobox) and select the index you want to use. That's it. No SQL involved (not directly -- if you examine the SQL statement of the query object, you will see "SELECT * FROM ..."). > The Borland extra CD is obviously prodding us in that direction. > Some instruction on how to set filters, order, etc in the new model would be of value. Filters work the same as above ... Ken
