One system I installed supports about 50 concurrent interactive users (with "unlimited" network connections) was about $85,000 5 years ago. There are models approaching $1,000,000, too. You can get 'em just about as big as you like. I can't really draw a parallel to a Novell or NT file server, since a box like the AS/400 does so much more than file and print service. Obviously when I'm talking about using it with dBASE I'm focused only on the database features, but there's far more to it than that, of course. I'd think that to build the equivalent environment with PCs would probably cost about the same amount. kgc
