I will say that I'm surprised of how fast you say it is. I'm doing some experimental stuff on my local hard disk right now using Local SQL and it does not seem to be that fast against 8000 records on a 686 120mhz cpu 32mb ram. It might be because I'm not using the right syntax or because I'm not using indexes. -------- >All that is needed is to define a database alias in the BDE Is this a must? I've done some testing and did not need to define an alias. Maybe that is why my test was disenchanting? Thanks again, Greg
