hello everybody! what can i do to get a permanent table out of my sql-query instead of a temporary one that is deleted after closing the session (vdb 7)? the only solution that i can think of is creating the table and then filling it up with the query. but this is a lot of work. is there an easier way? (queries in paradox automatically create a table called "answer" which can be renamed for later use. pdx 4.5 does this for sure, newer versions probably too. something like this would be great.) any help is welcome. thanks in advance, thomas trautwein

Thomas, There is more than one way. SQL has a clause "SAVE TO" which allows you to keep the output: SELECT * FROM yourTable SAVE TO myTable You can also use the updateSet.copy( ) property to ask dBASE to copy the result set (rowset) for you. -- Geoff Wass Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia =>=> More dBASE info at http://members.theglobe.com/Geoff_Wass <=<=
