Hi,
I would like to know how i can resolve this problem:
I have a form with 2 table in relation father-child 1:N;
I must select the father's record that have a field of the child table equal
to .... (to modified it!)
I input the filter option in a entryfield object and then...

How i can do for filter also a field of the child table?? Can i do the
CanGetRow() How i can use it??

Example of may source code:

this.QUERY1 = new QUERY()
   this.QUERY1.parent = this
   with (this.QUERY1)
      left = 55
      top = -0.0455
      database = form.database1
      sql = 'select * from "father.dbf"'
      active = true
   endwith

this.QUERY2 = new QUERY()
   this.QUERY2.parent = this
   with (this.QUERY2)
      left = 65
      top = -0.0455
      database = form.database1
      sql = 'select * from "child.dbf"'
      active = true
   endwith

   with (this.QUERY2.rowset)
      filterOptions = 3
      indexName = "CALNOT"
      masterRowset = parent.parent.query1.rowset
      masterFields = "CALCIAID"
   endwith

Please help me and i would like that replay to this with an example with the
use of the COSTRAIN between the two my table (apply the example to the my
example...)
Thank's in advance ... Andrea

OK and i thank you for that but i don't understand how i can apply the
costrain to the two table because the your example is referred to a general
application and i don't know (i am novice) how apply it to my problem.

I would like if kindly respose me with a more specific example.
thank's and excuse me for my ignorance.
Andrea.

Come on over to the new dBASE newsgroups, repost your question, and I'll see
if I can cook up an example that applies to your specfifc situation.
