Is there a pre-programmed method to "Find" and "Replace" text within
an editor available without enabling the editor popup? (Version 7.x)
I searched the OLH and couldn't find anything.
I don't want the popup menu enabled (or the editor toolbar) because
the HTML formatting screws my editor text up when trying to print -- and
the extra formatting characters make the character count inaccurate. (I
need an accurate character count to estimate "reading" time.)

Not sure if you can invoke those dialogs programmatically, but you could
probably build your own find/replace dialogs in a method of a custom
editor class. I bet it's possible, but not necessarily easy.

That's what I was afraid of!
