 I am working with a new tax client that has built a business around
optimizing credit card transactions. If any folks have a retail
business, or know of retail business doing credit card “swipes”, this
gentleman is a wealth of knowledge in this area. He can quickly asses
the fees and advise if the account is set up properly with reasonable
fees and surcharges. I was amazed at the range of fees and practices
going on in the industry today. One particular area was the “leasing”
of the swiping machine and related fees…One more area to save a bit of
