Have you compared the prices for the various parts of your coverage?
Apprently rates here have undergone a recent increase (or will increase
soon, depending on the company) due in particular to hail damage.  I would
assume that companies are sophisticated enough to raise the price on
only the comprehensive portion of your insurance.

Another possibility is that accidents are more expensive here than in SM.
Perhaps the average car on the road here is more expensive, or the
drivers are more litiginous?  Could even be that the costs of auto repair
are higher around here.  Most likely it's a combination of some of the
above, *and* perhaps a higher accident rate...
