McCartney and many many of the PKers advocate passing laws which some would consider to be oppressive, fascist and homophobic. There are many among the religous right that advocate replacing democracy with a theocracy based upon literal biblical interpretation. If 50,000 people even slightly leaning in that direction decide to camp out in ones town, then it seems *constitutional* and ethically *defensible* to excercise ones rights to free expression. This isn't an issue about *pleasantness*, it's about politics. The warm fuzzies you may hear about are always expressed in the context of domination and building a society that is based on *one* religous belief. Sure, they have the right to meet and express their opinions. But their host community also has the right to do the same. There are many people from gays and lesbians to indigenous americans and many women who would suffer if PK "*values* were written into law. BTW, I saw some bumper stickers that say "HERE TO PISS OFF THE RELIGOUS RIGHT" down at Aria on Broadway (this is a politcal, not commercial advertisement). Also, please forgive me if I don't respond quickly to replies, the lines here are often busy. Regards, Brian
