This is a news release saying ozone depletion is so advanced
we only have a couple of years to do anything about it. This
type of evidence which, we know is being withheld from us by
bureaucratic scientific units, requires that we declare an
international emergency. We ask any other scientists to come
forward with other knowledge that would support or contradict
this assertion.

A News Bulletin:
Ozone-layer depletion already is so advanced that we have
only 'a couple years' left to do anything about it says a noted
physicists.
Adam Trombly, co-founder with Buckminster Fuller of Project
Earth, says we need 'an emergency worldwide shutdown of all
chlorine production except for pharmaceutical uses and also an
emergency multinational project to supplement the oxygen in the
stratosphere.'
In 1985 Trombly became the first scientist to go public with
data establishing global ozone depletion. He is quite critical
of U.S. government efforts aimed at keeping citizens from
learning the true dimensions of the ozone-layer predicament.
Trombly stresses that CFC's -- widely featured in mass media
a the principle threat to the ozone layer -- are doing only
'four or five percent' of the destruction. He says it's the
entire chlorine family of molecules. Most of the destruction is
caused by chlorine evaporating from swimming pools,
water-treatment plants, sewage-treatment plants and bleaches --
especially paper bleaches.
Trombly was interviewed recently by CNN correspondent Jay
April and by Keith Lampe, founder in 1969 of Earth Read-Out, an
environmental news service. Trombly is currently co-director of
the Institute for Advanced Studies at Aspen, Colorado.
His research into the current condition of the Colorado
coniferous forest has provided data indicating it's already about
28% dead. At least four-fifths of the dead trees were killed by
excessive ultraviolet radiation (UVB) resulting from ozone-layer
depletion. (The others were killed by acid rain).
He says excessive UVB also is killing coral reefs in various
parts of the world and is killing phytoplankton, source of about
half this planet's oxygen. And he says UVB levels are so high at
the southern tip of South America that humans, pigs, and goats
are going blind.
Trombly is amazed that citizens don't yet understand that we
must declare a worldwide emergency 'involving various military
forces and whatever is available. We have got to get excited...'
Trombly estimates that an emergency worldwide program to
supplement the oxygen in the stratosphere will cost $4.9 billion
annually. He points out that emergency projects necessary to
maintain the biosphere will create many jobs and lead to economic
booms in various parts of the world.
'Excessive UVB right now in Colorado is causing an epidemic
of a deadly skin cancer called malignant melanoma. More people
are dying form it around here than from AIDS. We've had sever
sunburn cases all winter with people wearing number-fifteen
sunscreen and skiing only two hours. Our skin is the most
important part of our immune systems, so obviously we are
wrecking our immune systems. In whose best interest is it that
we all be exterminated this way? We have got to get excited....'
