I am living in a county in California (Lake Co., near Clearlake) that has an amazing diversity of native plants that still exist despite agriculture, grazing, and slowly spreading subdivision. I am propagating native plants and trying to do some education of th4 public to the advantages of landscaping with natives, and the harm and ecological mess caused by using ornamental, non-native invasive plants. I am following this posting with two others that I had handed out at Earth Day when I represented the California Native Plant Society and also sold plants. Karen
