While given time, I could probably find "printed" substantiation. But these
figures were specifically given in a recent (last 1 - 2 months) DISCOVERY
channel presentation on ocean pollution and fishing (and backed up up by
several others). Unfortunately, I don't remember which one: good candidates
would be the NATURE ocean special, or the BLUE REVOLUTION or the Prequel
to "Where Have All the Dolphins Gone?" special.
While I'm on line, it's too bad that a large part of the the "general" public,
who do not have access to cable, miss many significant oportunities to learn
about the earth. This is definitely the "Year of the Environment" on cable,
especially DISCOVERY, A&E and TBS.
