As reported this evening on MSNBC: Los Angeles, CA news from KNBC $20 billion dollars-- Energy solution cost to taxpayers, consumers . From Los Angeles: Proposals being considered by California's governor and Legislature to solve the state's electricity crisis -- are expected to cost taxpayers and consumers about 20 (B) billion dollars. Much of that state outlay is expected to be repaid by California electricity customers over many years. What this translates to is each and every homeowner will absob $10,000 in new debt, translated into higher property taxes due to the screw ups in the grand plan to deregulate the utilities. In concept it was fine except for all the restrictions that were applied to it by our learned elected officials. When this hits the fan and each homeowner realizes that his or her tax bill went up $500 (conservative) to $1`,000 per year (more realistic), then the politicians will resort to the fast shuffle. To draw attention away from their stupidity and flat out corruption due influence peddling by political activist groups (lobbies) then expect the democrats to give us anti-gun control measures that make the current rash of nonesense seem pale in perspective and measure of repression. Such things as it will become a felony for private parties to sell firearms unless it is through a dealer, this means state wide registration. Also watch for measures that will make civilian ownership and possession of marked law enforcement or military use only high capacity magazines a felony. Also watch for the state registration of firearms owners, something that will look like a drivers license photo id complete with a full set of fingerprints just to buy a firearm or ammunition for same, including reloading components with no 10 day waiting period. When you purchase a gun or transfer a firearm to another party at a dealer your id card will be swiped through a scanner, much akin to the law enforcement id scanner or ATM machine. On the surface the last proposal sounds great, but it is a deception, now that you are fully registered, then they know exactly how many firearms you own, and all there is to know about the private individual so when confiscation becomes the rule of the state, they know where exactly what you have and when to find you. Sorry, this is not paranoia 101, it is directly from sources within the DOJ. I pass this on as I am one of the surving 2000 FFL's left in the state, exactly how many individuals this actually translates into is unknown, other than 1,000 ffls were eliminated this year by the DOJ. Presently I have two licenses and my employer has 7 just as two examples. Bear
