Well the spin doctors are well at work on this election. The problem is not
with either candidate nor party but with the news media who single sourced
the news gathering from Voter News Network. This is a reporting agency
sponsored by the majors, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CNN. The votes being
gathered from Florida as reported by the governor were being made known
while the polling places were still open, a violation of federal election
law.

What is really at issue and why there needs to be a change in how the
elections are reported, rests with a singular reporting agency, no
substantiation being possible from other sources. The television is being
considered by many to be the gospel truth, whereas lately it is proven it is
not.

To rectify this problem in the future, I call for a change in election laws,
presidential candiates voter returns cannot be revealed until all absentee
ballots are counted. This will allow all states to record their findings,
giving a second source verification. In this election as an example, the
votes were being made known while the election was still in progress which
will sway voters to vote for a winner, cause others to stay at home as "my
vote does not count" and eliminate the screw ups on forecasting who won the
election and opening this country to ridicule. This will leave the popular
vote and electorial college in tact. This can be done by the electorate we
put into office in the Senate and House of Representatives.

It has been argued by some that the election should be made solely by the
popular vote and not by the electorial college, this is an area of
Consititional law and requires a major change, which under law requires the
people, not the politician, to vote for or against the decision. Under
Consititional law, if neither candidate can be declared the victor, then the
vote is cast by the House of Representatives, not by the standing president,
vice president, senate nor by re-balloting by the people. This is not what
is being reported on any major news network.

To those who want fairness in any election and why each state has two
senators represent them, consider a change here too, each state has one
vote, to gain the presidentcy you need 26 states to say you are or are not
the newly elected president. This places each state at equal footing in the
election process without concern over each state's population.

First: All the uproar concerning Palm Beach needs to be viewed in the light
of fact, the election form was created by a Democrat, not a Republican. The
ballot was designed by the county Supervisor of Elections (Democrat who by
the way lives in my town Lake Clarke Shores where I am Mayor).

Second, the vote form was of the same construction and design as previous
Florida ballots and is also a carbon copy of election forms often used in
Illinois.

Third: the concept that there needs to be a run-off election based upon
three women in the 80's who did not read nor understand the voting form is
ludicrous. They had the form two weeks prior to the election, if they did
not like it they had ample opportunity to change the ballot format, in
addition, they had the opportunity to request a another form at the polling
place if they thought they made a mistake. Sorry but this sounds like sour
grapes and political spin doctoring to steal the election. It is not Florida
law as no irregularities have been found despite what the news media would
like us all to believe. This is Florida not New York.

Not all the absentee ballots are counted which can overturn many elections;
there are 30,000 in Florida comming from the military who are expected to
vote for Bush, 20% of the votes in Oregon remain to be counted, and 1
million absentee ballots to be counted in California. In the latter sense,
California absentee ballots are from primarily from Republican favored
districts like Orange County. The 54 electorial votes in California could
overturn the popular vote for many candidates in that state including the
vote for president. In California the state voted 3.5 million votes absentee
and 5.5 million in the polling place. The point here is the election is far
from over and neither candidate can claim victory based upon the news media
reporting and what we see on television is simply the news media putting
their own spin on the facts to cover their butt.

Where we as a people can make a difference is right here and now, in the
next election: "lets all vote absentee in the comfort of our own home". In
so doing the news media does not have a method to determine who is elected
president or any other major campaign issue until all the votes are counted
which will take days to accomplish. This is the only way that a truely fair
and impartial vote can be registered.

The newsmedia says were are a country who demands to know the news, "we want
what we want when we want it and we want it now!" mentality. On something
this important to the country and the people, think the demigods of the news
industry need to take a step back and recount their own self importance.
