I've bought many items from UBid and have generally been satisfied
with the service. Every piece I purchased was as advertised, and
arrived as promised. I have purchased several refurbished items
there, but they were always clearly marked as such. I think the $50
coupon was a reasonable offer. You most likely could have had them
take the piece back and cover your shipping. (I know at least two
people who did this for no reason other than buyer's remorse.)
