A maintenance worker at a Sears in Southern California has been
arrested for allegedly filming women in the store's changing
rooms, KABC-TV reports.

Officials say 27-year-old Alejandro Gamiz allegedly placed
hidden video cameras behind the walls of women's restrooms and
fitting rooms at the store in the San Fernando Valley community
of North Hollywood, north of downtown Los Angeles.

The cameras were discovered by a sharp-eyed fitting-room
attendant, who found them during a routine check of the rooms
last week, KABC said.

It remains unknown how many victims may have been exposed to the
cameras or how many cameras were found. Gomez had worked at the
store for seven years and is thought to have placed the cameras
in the fitting rooms a year ago.

Sears customer Ruby Roldan told the TV station that she found
Gamiz's alleged actions unbelievable. "I used to change in those
fitting rooms and go to the restroom there," she said. "That's
like an invasion of privacy."

Gomez, who posted $20,000 bail and has been released, has been
charged with burglary and surreptitious filming of unsuspecting
women.

Evidence supporting the charges was recovered from the
department store's security personnel and also with the
cooperation of Gamiz, KABC said.
