We have a wonderful OMNIMAX facility here in San Diego at the
Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater.  It's in Balboa Park.  They run
shows every day.  At the moment, the feature is "Antarctica" which
is simply stunning and, oddly enough, educational.   I think they
are also running "Grand Canyon" interspersed.  And at night you
can get your head together (or blown apart) with Laserium shows to
*loud* rock music.

Included in the Fleet complex is a touchy-feeley science center
that has some great exhibits.  And Balboa Park is full of other
great museums, the Zoo, trees, grass, an interesting collection
of people, etc.  If you come on a weekend, arrive early as
parking is always a problem, especially in the vicinity of the
Space Theater.
