Bay Area Tidepools:Where?

One of my friends will be going to the San Jose area this summer.
He would like to know if there are any tidepools in the area, between
about San Francisco and Carmel.  Does anyone out there know of any good
beaches for him to go to for this?

in 1-2 weeks.
