What you state is true. The original pledge began with a military
salute that was held for the phrase "I pledge allegiance" and
thereafter the arm stretched out toward the flag for the rest of the
robotic chanting. In actual use, the second part of the gesture was
performed with a straight arm and palm down by children performing the
forced ritual chanting. That part of the Pledge was exactly like the
salute of the National Socialist German Workers' Party and pre-dated
it by 3 decades. A photograph is at

Due to the way that both gestures were used sequentially in the
pledge, the military salute led to the Nazi salute. The Nazi salute is
an extended military salute via the USA's Pledge Of Allegiance. Which
is all the more ominous because the Bellamys advocated Military
Socialism.

All of that was established in the research of the historian Dr. Rex
Curry (author of "Pledge Of Allegiance Secrets").

Socialists in the USA originated the Nazi salute, robotic group-
chanting to
flags, Nazism, flag fetishism, and the modern swastika as "S"
symbolism for
"Socialism" later used by the National Socialist German Workers'
Party.
