	**BAY/DELTA METADATA INDEX WORKSHOP**

You and all San Francisco Bay/Delta water/environment stakeholders are
invited to a special Bay/Delta Metadata Index Workshop May 15th
in Sacramento, CA

This workshop will explore a way to expand computer access to
Bay/Delta data sets. The goal of the workshop is to include your
input to a proposal on how the Internet can be used to find
Bay/Delta data/information through an on-line Index/Library
system. The proposal is to use the World Wide Web as a means to
integrate existing and upcoming on-line indexes to different
data sets. Today, there is no organized method of posting or
retrieving most of the data bases concerning the Bay/Delta. Our
hope is that this workshop is will lead to the implementation of
a highly usable and complete index/library to benefit all
stakeholders in the Delta.

Water On-Line is pleased to host the workshop on Monday, May
15th, at the Clarion Hotel in Sacramento (700 16th St). The
project steering committee, (made up of representatives from a
dozen federal state and local agencies, non-profit associations,
and the University) has been working for months to create this
proposal and hopes you will be able to attend.

Your organization/agency can play a role in this consensus
project by attending this workshop and participating in
designing the final Index. Don't miss this opportunity,
register now for the SF Bay/Delta Metadata Index Workshop by
calling (916) 758-4211 or by replying to this e-mail message.

Registration for the Bay/Delta Metadata Index Workshop costs
$20 per person (includes lunch) if registered by May 12th. On
site registration will cost $30. Checks should be made payable
to Water On-Line and mailed to: WOL c/o Kevin Wolf Associates,
724 N St, Davis, CA 95616. Please include the name,
organization, phone and address for each attendee.

The following is a draft agenda of the May 15th workshop.

Sincerely,

Mike Williams Kevin Wolf
