I have a microphone and when i plug it in i can hear my self talking in the
speakers but when I make a new .wav and try to record something it wouldn't
record..

any suggestions?

you may have two inputs, one labelled 'mic' and the other 'line in' try
using line in

ps cam.* is apparently a news heirachy for Cambridge, England. nobody
ever posts here, it doesn't even get spammed. I'm only subscribed cos I
was so impressed that Cambridge had its own heirachy!
