Archive-name: can-sites-newsgroups
Last-modified: 4 July 1995 by can-sites@gts.org

Here's a listing of Canadian service-provider & miscellaneous
newsgroups, as it appears from here. Some of the information
is thought to be reasonably accurate, but many hierarchies are
incomplete or even missing entirely.

Please note that this list excludes places and schools (which
are the subject of a separate list) - newsgroups from individual
computer systems, service providers, etc., are its only contents.
Sites that wish to have their newsgroup hierarchy shown on this
new list are invited to send detailed descriptions of their
newsgroups to "can-sites@gts.org".

There are 280 groups shown, as well as 12 aliases (indicated
by "=" beginning the text field). The count of articles received
here so far is in the second field, if the line describes an actual
"active" file entry.

Where the text field is merely ".", no description is known
(creative suggestions are welcomed).

If there are additional such newsgroups on your system but not
in this list, email to that effect would be appreciated - please
send to "can-sites@gts.org".

Also there is a list of email addresses of some of the
moderators of the moderated newsgroups, followed by a list of
email addresses of moderated groups for your "mailpaths" file.
These lists are appended after the end of the newsgroups
description list below.

Thanks to all who send updates, suggestions and comments -
your help is appreciated.
