Did you hear about a possible Sea-Doo Boo-Boo? Bombardier best-selling jet-boat, the CHALLENGER, was advertised to be suitable for the purpose of towing water-skiers. However, some people swore that they got burned by salespeople's inflated claims. I have also heard that at least one ski school couldn't get their students up on a Sea-Doo's jet boat. One instructor said that Sea-Doo was underpowered for the job. Consequently, a consumer group found indications that the Sea-Doo "Challenger" was incapable of towing skiers who weight over 220 lbs. Boaters' complaints reached Consumer Action Group (416) 587-0070, who researched the subject, and found what they allege is a "smoking gun". I have now heard that a class-action lawsuit claiming up to $50,000 per Challenger is being readied in this regard.
