I switched to TD because of massive service charges elsewhere. Since we are in a fee for service society now, it is a safest bet to get a service plan. I have a $5 month service charge from TD which gives me 2 free cheques per month (regardless of balance), pretty much unlimited debit card use, 2 free withdrawals at another bank machine, and unlimited transactions at TD's ATM's. For an extra $1.10 I get overdraft protection...I have a $500 overdraft that I can dip into and not be charged a penalty, just a small interest rate. This plan also includes banking by phone or computer. They have various other plans which may suit your needs even better!
