 New Citizen Consultation
              April 1
The second consultation on the Architecture
and design of the E-Commons will commence
on the 1st of April, 2000 and run until the 30th.

The Electronic Commons will create and manage a national public online
network to help close the digital divide be-
tween knowledge media rich and poor by using new in-
formation technologies to bring together communities of
shared geography, interest, practice, and intention within
a common public space. The Electronic Commons will broaden the circle of

community network innovation by providing a showcase, test bed and think

tank for an expanding network of volunteers and experts who will
collectively build a new public medium for Canadian civil society in the

twenty- first century.
