What kind of a shit head dork are you???

10 Years ago the bandwidth costs on BELL's end would be up astronomically to
supply people with 14.4 bps access. 10 Years ago the internet was hardly
available in the public domain. 10 years ago a 386 computer cost thousands
of dollars, nevermind the cost of a commercial server that needs to run
24x7x365. In 1992 while you had the choice, commercial servers were very
expensive pieces of equipment.

The fact of the matter is while you rant on about all the 'new' crap has
been going on - every day it gets cheaper for Bell to provide this service.
Dont you remember when long distance was a buck a minute? When a 200mb hard
drive was $300 dollars??

When I signed up for beta testing of cable back in 1995 I paid $80 a month
for the service. There were no limits. Now, how much money do you think it
cost Bell to have the server/telco infrastructure in 1995 compared to now??
A shitload less, let me tell you.

As they should be. Whats the point of getting high speed access to surf the
net and chat on ICQ, when you can do that for *free* with an account from
NetZero???

Again, hardware today is cheap by yesterdays standards. Very cheap.

A couple of DVDs? Ive never seen DVDs avalable for download. Perhaps you are
talking about VCDs?
Big difference.

Because 5GB is alot for you, that means that is the rule by which all others
should be measured agaisnt?
Coming from my grandmothers perspective, 500K is alot of bandwidth to use in
a month.

What if you are transferring legit files that exceed 5GB per month on a VPN
between your house and your work?

What if you have five people in the house sharing one internet connection
(which many ppl do) - 1gb of transfer going to be enough??
