Anyone who participated in the south-eastern Ontario BBS scene may
remember that, for a few years in the early nineties, a Kingston-area
BBS message forum was "gated" from FidoNet to a UseNet newsgroup named
kingston.bbs.fido.users249

...We then left the newsgroup unused for quite a few years, but a
new gateway was recently started up. Your milage may vary on whether
the kingston.bbs.fido.users249 newsgroup is available from your
Internet Service Provider but, if it isn't, they "should" be able to
hook it up for you because it's distribution is very wide-spread.

I don't want to seem overly enthusiastic, so I'll mention that
message volume is pretty low from the FidoNet side. That's sorta
natural, since the number of BBSes continues to dwindle. Still,
kingston.bbs.fido.users249 could become a place for current or
former BBS sysops and users to keep in touch.

Taker easy, ...Steve
