My niece was diagnosed with leukemia in Edmonton just over a month ago, and
treatment was begun that same day, even though she is not Canadian, and had
no insurance.
After a few rounds of chemo, she has been transferred to the Sloan-Kettering
Institute in New York, in preparation for a bone marrow transplant.
After her initial examination at Sloan Kettering, the doctors all stated
that the doctors in Edmonton had done an outstanding job with their
treatment, as it appears no further chemo will be necessary prior to the
transplant.

Thanks, Canada
