IT consultant wants advice on joining CATA

Greetings,

It was recommended to me that i look into CATA, but i find it
difficult to base the value of joining CATA from the CATA website.

I just opened the doors to a new IT servicing business and receiving
invaluable advice from the people at my local YMCA Business Resource
Centre.

Is it likely i would secure small or medium sized business IT
contracts through CATA, or is it purely an association for big
business to network with highly developed small technology firms
offering specialty tech solutions?

As much as i have an intuitive understanding of how to apply new
ideas, thus enjoying a presence within a like atmosphere, i'm
wondering if it will also help me pay my bills.

I have worked on developing an innovative internet tool to fill an
existing killer-gap. Many of my ideas are still available for
integration to upcoming technology, since the project i was working on
folded due to an unfortunate partner mis-match. The ideas are now
non-patentable, but still exist to smoothly enter the marketplace.

Any input as to how CATA would be a benefit, networking or otherwise,
to myself and my business, would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Kallen Williams
