The Canadian Technology Human Resources Board (CTHRB) promotes the use
and continuous revision of the Canadian Technology Standards and
assists Canadian industrial and occupational technology organizations
in resolving human resource issues.  
 
CTHRB is currently programming TechnoFile in partnership with CATA,
the Canadian Advanced Technology Association.  TechnoFile is being
programmed to make it the premiere career management tool for
technicians and technologists throughout Canada.  Individuals can use
TechnoFile to track all on the job training, assignments, temporary
duties, commendations, awards etc.  As the prospect of mandatory
professional development comes closer to being a reality, TechnoFile
is the ideal system for managing and tracking mandatory professional
development.  
 
 CTHRB will be Beta Testing TechnoFile the week of 4 to 8 May, 1998.
If you are interested in being a Beta Test candidate, please forward

TechnoFile will advise individuals that they qualify to apply for
 certification or that they do not qualify for certification in their
own or another occupation due to gaps in training and/or experience.
In version 2, TechnoFile will  help identify training which will lead
to certification.  TechnoFile will inform individuals their
occupational profile or specific competencies within the profile have
been revised in the Canadian Technology Standards.  TechnoFile will
advise on how to eliminate the deficiency.  TechnoFile will also
notify individuals their personal data has not been updated over the
past six months which should lead to current and accurate data on
training, experience and professional development.  
 
TechnoFile will also be a pool of skilled technology workers for
employers needing technology workers across Canada and throughout the
world through CATA's TechnoSkills web site.
