The only other critical domain names (so far) are cips.net ( registered to Consorzio Internet Providers Della Sardegna in Italy),
cips.org (registered to The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply in the UK) and of course cips.com (registered to Computer
Integrated Phone Solutions Corp. in the MD USA - phone systems for healthcare).

You can check out ownership of a US registered domain name via http://www.internic.net/ and a Canadian domain name via
http://www.cdnnet.ca/search/index.html.

The major worry is if one of the alternate names is an XXX rated site - or if it's taken by a legitimate business now, they may allow it
to lapse and some less than upright enterprise picks up the name... Mostly an image thing and something that doesn't appear to be a
worry for our CIPS at the moment for .com, .net and .org...

We might consider registering our provincial orginizations under cips.bc.ca, cips.ab.ca, cips.sk.ca, etc., there currently is no charge
for registration under .ca...
