Salutations, Here's an odd query, I'm posting it here because it fits better here than anywhere else I can think of. Are any of your organizations making any deliberate attempts to slow down the introduction of change? The reason I ask is that I'm beginning to see indications that the 'biological capacity' for change (Toffler) is beginning to make itself known. There are cities in Italy which are trying to slow down the pace of change and even, to some degree, trying to roll back the clock a bit. (http://www.slowfood.com/principles/slowcity.html) They're banning cars, overhead wires etc. The goal is to preserve what is good about what they have... a backlash aginst uncontrolled globalization... you've seen it, every corner with a McDonalds... no matter what country you're in. There have also been reports of teenagers at technology conferences 'protesting' against the pace of change. (Toronto Star, April 11th 2000, 'Stop the Ride' by Sharlene Azam) With these as indicators of a trend(?) I'm searching for companies which might be saying 'enough is enough' and actually putting some formal 'change adoption rules' in place. Comments? BoojumHunter
