Japanese Association of Electronic Home Appliances. (AEHA) The Japanese Association of Electronic Home Appliances (AEHA), based in Tokyo, is please to announce that it will engage in a 10-day tour of cathode ray tube (CRT) recycling centers and glass manufactures. A 20-member delegation from the AEHA will travel throughout the eastern United States, meeting with public and private groups to discuss the cathode ray tube industry. The AEHA is a government sponsored trade group comprised of members of electronic manufactures like Sony, Matsushita, and Toshiba. The association has developed technologies for an integrated system to recycle four electronic home appliances: televisions, air conditioners, washing machines, and refrigerators. Advanced Recovery in Belleville, New Jersey (973) 450-9797, (http://www.AdvancedRecovery.com) will host the delegations for a day long meeting and information exchange on the topics of CRT's and electronic home appliance recycling. Advanced Recovery is a recycling company dedicated to meeting future environmental challenges. The company provides services to manufacturers, developers, governmental agencies and financial institutions. Advanced Recovery's progressive and comprehensive recycling methods allow the company to reuse 99.7% (by weight) of the 200 tons of electronic equipment it receives every month. Nick Albano, vice president of Advanced Recovery, said, "This meeting represents a great opportunity for both sides. We are able to share our recycling innovations in CRT's, and at the same time learn about developments in home appliance recycling. This will lead to a long term information exchange with Japan concerning the global issue of recycling." The AEHA delegation will consist of members of the electron manufacturers and total approximately 20 people. The Association is meeting with a host of public and private groups, including the EPA in Washington DC and Boston, and glass manufacturers Corning and Techneglas. Erik Glitman, principal for Fletcher Mountain Group, the Burlington, VT based market research consulting firm arranged the tour, said, "We are please to be a part of this global effort. The AEHA is interested in locating US companies who may want to visit Japan for similar purpose. The Association would further demonstrate their recycling capabilities and strengthen their international alliance with CRT and electronic recycling." Chad Stimson, project manager for Fletcher Mountain Group, said, based on our research, it is clear that Advanced Recovery is a leader in CRT recycling. The AEHA is excited at the opportunity to learn more about US advances in recycling from the industry leader. This meeting is the first step in what could be a long term partnership."
