Can interference of mechanical and neurological control of breathing by bifid or bifurcated rib exist? Can it be suppressed and concealed by the patient and from the examiner? Yet, can it be a significant burden on the patient? Can a culture of shame prevent the examiner from observing these effects of suppression of conscious awareness and imparement of performance? "There's something wrong with me but I don't know what it is..." "I never had a good day in my whole life."
