I am a student with about a year before I graduate with a degree in
Special Ed. I have discovered that there is so much that I don't know
even though I feel I am getting a good education at my university. I
would like to know if anyone is interested in forming a club with me
that would be comprised of anyone interested in education and means to
provide each other with more information about important things in
education. This could include current issues in education as well as
a means of answering questions that come up about teaching and the
educational process.
I think that modern technology is a wonderful and important way in
which we can communicate with people world wide at little expense. I
would appreciate the opportunity to learn from people who have, or are
currently are dealing with specific issues in education. I think that
the newsgroups are invaluable and a wonderful resource. I would not
want to negate the value of the newsgroup, yet I would think that it
would be beneficial to have a "club" in addition to this resource. I
would like to the format to involve this newsgroup if possible as well
as email, possibly creating an email mailing list that I would
maintain. I think that focusing on specific issues and then creating
a resource would benefit anyone interested. I know that I have found
the internet to be an incredible resource to me as I do research for
my classes. I would like to pull together and help each other using
the internet and other means that may be available to some depending
on region as well as availability. I am often overwhelmed by the
sheer volume of information provided in the newsgroups and I think
that by creating a smaller club, we would be able to benefit each
other more and possibly create a personal perspective that may not be
achieved with the anonymity of the vast internet.
I would like to begin this club by receiving the names of anyone
interested via email and we will discuss how we can best benefit each
other.
Email your name and email address to me and let's see what we can do!
I am excited about the possibilities and look forward to hearing from
anyone interested.
	Thank you,
	Jennifer
