Hi! Thanks for reading my message! My name is Tina Urbain, and I would appreciate help with my science project from any adults, high school seniors, or sixth graders out there. I would be INCREDIBLY grateful if you would be so kind as to answer the questions on my multiple-choice survey below in an honest manner, and E-mail these answers to me. Thank you so much for your time! Please also tell me that you are an adult, senior, or sixth grader somewhere in your message. THANKS! 1. If you were driving along in your car and you saw someone ahead of you throw a pop can out of their window, would you: a) pick it up and take it in for the deposit b) leave it there c) take down their license plate number and make a mental note to report them d) follow them and give it back to them e) grumble about people not caring about anything anymore 2. Which of these best describes you? a) I recycle everything I can religiously b) I recycle when I get a chance to go to the recycling center or put out the bin c) I recycle whenever I think of it d) I don't recycle because it's too much of a bother e) I don't recycle because they don't have pick-up service in my community f) I'm not the one who takes care of the garbage so I don't know if I recycle or not 3. How do you feel about air pollution? a) I hate air pollution and I hate everyone who pollutes the air. I carpool, walk, or ride my bike almost everywhere, and you couldn't pay me enough to live in a big polluted city. b) I hate air pollution and I try to do my part to lessen it. I carpool sometimes and it isn't unheard of for me to walk someplace nearby. I try to keep my energy consumption down so big polluting power plants don't have to work so hard. c) Air pollution is bad, and I don't like it, but because of the restraints of my budget, time, and lifestyle, I don't feel that there is much I can do about it. d) Air pollution stinks, but what can I do about it? It's not like I'm a big factory or anything. It's not my fault anyways. e) Air pollution doesn't really bother me. It's just one of those unpleasant realities -- if you want jobs, you need industry, and if you have industry, you have pollution. f) I don't really care about air pollution. There's not very much where I live, so it doesn't affect me. 4. If you were at a friend's house, and there were a lot of lights on in an area of their house where no one was, would you: a) enjoy the reduced strain on your eyes -- a little extra light never hurt anyone b) snoop around to see what was so important that it needed all of that light in there c) mention to your friend the recent increase in electricity prices d) go shut them all off e) tell your friend about the blinding headaches you've been getting lately, and how bright light aggravates them 5. What do you think about the ozone? a) I don't really care b) It needs our help. Ending the use of ozone-depleting aerosols is good, but we also need to decrease air pollution and stop chopping up the rainforest if we're ever going to fix it. c) Hey, the use of CFC's is banned. What more can we do? 6. What do you think of beautification day? a) Hey, it gets me out of class. That makes it a good thing. b) It's good that we get to take some time out to make our town a better place to live. c) I've got better things to do than pull weeds and stuff like that for an entire day. I wish they didn't make me do it anyway. d) What's beautification day? Please give any comments you have below. Thank you for your time!
