I have a Sportster 33.6 fax modem and I also have call waiting. Sometimes, I would like to keep call waiting enabled so people can still break through to me even though I am using the modem (I only have one phone line). Usually I add in *70 to the beginning of the phone number to disable call waiting, however today I left it out (I was waiting for someone to call me back). However, when I finally hung-up the modem, I got through to the person and he said that he has been trying my number and all he gets in continuous rings. In other words, the modem blocked call waiting. Rather than giving the person a busy signal like *70 does, it just let the phone ring without my knowledge and without letting me get disconnected. However, I would like to be able to get disconnected sometimes and let the other person get through. How do I disable the call waiting blocking feature? P.S Please e-mail me, rather than post, the response. -- Chad Waldman chad.waldman@worldnet.att.net
