Stabie-Soft, an Electronic Design Automation company, announces
availability of it's 2.1 release of its layout editor. The latest
release incorporates VioVue, a violation viewer/reader of 3rd party
DRC programs. The 2.1 release adds a powerful undo/redo that is
superior to Virtuoso in its capability. The number of levels of
undo as well as maximum memory usage for undo is user set-able.

Recent performance testing shows a design structure containing
the following elements consumed only 400 MB of virtual memory.
1.2 million instances
1.8 million rectangles
82 thousand paths
1.9 million wires
1.5 million vias

Opens for view/edit in 45 sec's.
Move 500K+ instance objects in 120 sec's
Undo of the above 500K+ instance object move in less than 5 sec's.
Conversion to stream format in 70 seconds (Output stream size 210MB)
Conversion from stream format in 230 seconds.

The test design was created by flattening a hierarchically designed
processor to the standard cell level. Of course slam operates
much more efficently on the original unflattened design. The data
was collected using a 400MHz Pentium II system with 256 MB of RAM.

The 2.1 release is available under Linux (2.0 and 2.2 kernels) for Intel
platforms and under Solaris for Sun platforms.
For further information on the software, drop by our website

Pricing for the viewer continues to be $39 and the editor is $2500
per node locked copy. Thirty day evaluations of the product are
available by sending us a hostid for SPARC paltforms or your
hardware ethernet address for Linux platforms. (result of /sbin/ifconfig)
