In response to some student requests, I have invited Be Corporation to
come to campus and demonstrate their products on campus on December 6,
1996. They will hold their sessions in DCC 308 during the time 10am - 2pm.
I have asked them to try and discuss some technical issues along with the
inevitable sales pitches, so it may be useful. 

"Be Corp." appears to be a promising and innovative entrant into the
multimedia personal computer business. It was started by a former
president at Apple (Jean-Louis Gasse). Their products appear to be based 
on true multi-tasking, heavy use of multi-threading, symmetric 
multi-processing, object-oriented design, real-time media and 
communications, and on simple, elegant solutions. I am guessing that 
these ideas would be of broad interest. For more information, look up their
