There was also going to be an interstate running up thru Troy at the base of the hill between 6th and 8th. The story is that they tore down a lot of buildings and destroyed the neighborhood, then decided that the hill was too unstable to continue. Your taxes at work. There were plans to extend I 787 up thru Waterford, tearing out the heart of the town. The relevant local politician didn't try to fight Transport. Instead he had Peebles Island declared an historical site. Transport has no power to put a road thru an historical site. I always marvel at the incredible amount of badly spent money on capdist highways. I'm not talking about whether or not they should be built (I like most of them) but about multimillion dollar design and construction errors. -- --------------------- Wm.
