Hello everybody Attention: This is not a voting opportunity. It's just a discussion about how the vote will proceed. Wait for the CfV (Call for Votes) to vote. As we agreed on activating the CHancelbot in the vote from march 99 (s. http://x38.deja.com/[ST_rn=ps]/getdoc.xp?AN=464882904&CONTEXT=927620048.1337000058) we have to decide on who is going to run it. The voting procedure has largely been determined by the charter on the cancel modalities of CHancelbot. Quoting the CfV of march 99 >The CHancelbot operates under the authority of persons (the 'operators') >elected by the readers of the ch.* groups by at least a 2/3 yes majority. An >operator has to resign his post if he does not pass a vote of confidence by at >least a 2/3 yes majority. There has always to be at least one active operator >otherwise the CHancelbot has to be shut down. It was suggested that there should be one (1) operator of the CHancelbot and one (1) substitute. Marc Schaefer and Matthias Leisi have volunteered as operator and substitute respectively. Any further candidates can volunteer during this RfD. For the vote I suggest the followin CfV: "CfV: Operator CHancelbot Info ==== The vote of march 99 decided upon the activation of the CHancelbot. This vote is about an operator of the CHancelbot and his substitute according to the rules of the CHancelbot charter. Marc Schaefer (schaefer(at)alphanet.ch) and Matthias Leisi (leisi(at)codelab.ch) have volunteered for this election. Reaching a 2/3 majority in the vote they will be allowed to configure and activate the CHancelbot upon the rules we decided on in the last vote. Notes about the cancelled messages will be posted in ch.bulletin.chancelbot." I would like to add here the header line identifying the cancels as coming from CHancelbot allowing the news server operators to decide on accepting or dismissing the cancel messages. Voting modalities, the ballot and so on will be copied from the last CfV (Thanks to Andreas). All the proposed operators of the CHancelbot will be listed in the ballot. The two of the volunteers on the list with the most votes (YES/NO votes) will be elected as operator and substituent. They have to reach the 2/3 majority. This vote may be repeated any time and without delay. x'post ch.admin, ch.general (no longer valid), f'up to ch.admin Michael -- Michael Bleichenbacher, Zurich (Switzerland)
