Hi,

ordered it twice and got it twice... (read it once ;-)

Brand new book on Unix Internals:
Unix Internals, The New Frontiers by Uresh Vahalia (ISBN 0-13-101908-2)

This book covers kernel design of the main Unix Varians in use today, as
SVR4.x, Solaris/SunOS, Dgital Unix, 4.4BSD, OSF/1 and Mach. It is not as
in-depth as 'The Magic Garden Explained' or the black book from Leffer/McKusick
et al, but covers as far uncovered topics as synchronisation in multi-cpu
architectures and distributed filesystems (nfs, rfs, andrew...). Also there
is an interessting chapter about log-based filesystems. ...and about LWP's
and threads.

This book does not replace the two before mentionned books, but is an
excellent complement, especially for SunOS users. Not yet in the shops
in Switzerland, I think.
