On my Harddrive I have a primary FAT-32 partition with win 98 on it. In order to get space for Linux RedHat, I created a new extended partition under Partition Magic. During the Linux installation process (Disk Druid) I am asked to create a \root mount in a ext-2 like formated partition. Every time I try to Add a new ext-2 partition in order to re-arrange the arrangements after deleting the former ext-2 partition, Disk Druid shows up with a error message that says that there is NOT ENOUGH FREE SPACE". But I am sure there should be enough space...... The swap mount on the other side can be easily created. But I just cant make a root partition. Is there a way to do it at all? What do I have to create first, and what do I have to fill in the gaps? Do I have to write / for the native partition and swap for the swap partition, right!? Is it better to use a new seperate primary partition for Linux or can it also be set up in a extended partition that contains a logical partition inside? I made it with a logical partition. Could this be the reason for my problem with the native partition?
