hello,

when I look at some of the big swiss webhosters, it seems they are still
using Apache 1.3: 

 Infomaniak:
 Server: Apache/1.3.20 Sun Cobalt (Unix) mod_ssl/2.8.4 PHP/4.3.3 FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_perl/1.26 [...]

 Hostpoint:
 Server: Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) PHP/4.3.0 FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_ssl/2.8.12  [...]

 Bluewin (hostcenter.com):
 Server: Rapidsite/Apa/1.3.27 (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_ssl/2.8.12 OpenSSL/0.9.7a


Does it mean that Apache 2.0 is still (after more than one year)
not ready for mass virtual hosting servers ? Or that the sysadmins
are simply lazy? :) 

I guess the first answer is correct:
   http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.apache2.php
     "Warning: Do not use Apache 2.0 and PHP in a production 
      environment neither on Unix nor on Windows. "

Why is it still "beta" ? Or are there already some people around
using apache2+php4 without problems in a production environment? 
I'd be glad to read some feedback :)
