Ich versuche mit S.U.S.E Linux 5.0 (Kernel 2.0.30, ppp Version 2.2.0)
eine
Internetverbindung mit meinem Provider (Bluewin.ch) herzustellen, um
anschliessend Netscape in der Version 4.5 vewenden zu koennen. 
Die ppp-Verbindung via Sportster Flash - Modem scheint zu funktionieren
(Auszug
aus /var/log/messages):

Anscheinend funktioniert aber etwas mit dem DNS nicht. Beim Starten von
Netscape
erhalte ich dauernd folgende Fehlermeldung:


  Netscape is unable to locaet the server ...... 
  Please check the server name and try again

  Warning: the following hosts are unknown: 
             home.netscape.com
             home6.netscape.com 
             internic.net 
  This means that some or all hosts will be unreachable. 
  Perhaps there is a problem with your name server? 
  If your site must use a non-root name server, you will 
  need to set the $SOCKS_NS environment variable to point 
  at the appropriate name server. It may (or may not) be 
  necessary to set this variable, or the SOCKS host 
  preference, to the IP address of the host in question 
  rather than its name. 
  Consult your system administrator.


Ich habe versucht die angegebene Variable mit den IP - Adressen des DNS
-
Servers (werden vom Provider mit 195.186.1.110 und ....111 angegeben) zu
setzen,
sowie die beiden Adressen in die Datei /etc/resolv.conf einzutragen.
Beides hat
nicht geholfen. Wie teile ich Netscape 4.5 die Adresse des DNS mit?
