I currently run two servers with each one ZyXEL 2864 Elite ISDN
(one of these started as a ZyXEL 2864 normal)

As soon as I switched to version 2.03 of the ZyXEL firmware, things
started to get very reliable (NF/1 uptime is usually longer than three
weeks, with no Linux reboot nor modem hangs; NF/2 is a little more
tricky but seems quite stable for a long time now).

BTW, the Linux systems are quite different (NF/1 is a pentium 100 with
32 MB memory, 6.5 GB harddisk and V32bis + ZyXEL with Linux 2.0.4;
NF/2 is a small 386 with 8 MB RAM and 60 MB harddisk and a V34 modem +
ZyXEL and Linux 1.2.13). NF/2 is also acting as an Internet relay for
a network of 15 PCs. NF/1 is also an UUCP, login, PPP, SLIP, news,
mail and FTN server, and used as a development machine.

I also run a Linux server in the US, which has not been rebooted since
I last upgraded the kernel remotely, something like two or three
monthes, and a Linux BOOTP/NFS for 8 diskless PCs (uptime 83 days
today). (diskless == no IDE, SCSI or floppy controller, only a boot
EPROM on a NE2000 clone, memory, keyboard, and screen --- well, one of
those has only a serial terminal instead). If you are interested
download Etherboot-2.x (works under Linux, NetBSD and FreeBSD).

PC/Linux is quite new for me (before I did run on MIPS/RISCos, on
SUN/Solaris and DPX/SPIX), but is a very enjoyable experience.
