Job Description:

SYSTEM ANALYSIS SKILLS:  Experience following an object oriented analysis methodology involving, use cases, UI prototyping, and Unified Modeling Language (UML). Web page design skills a plus.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:  Excellent interviewing and writing skills. Ability to organize complex system requirements into discrete logical packages. Ability to present requirements in various formats for different audiences: as UML diagrams, as written use cases, as screen prototypes with UI specs, and as atomic user requirement statements.

SOFTWARE TOOL SKILLS:  Experience with Word, Rational Rose, Caliber, FrontPage (or other web page design program).

BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE:  Familiarity with foreign exchange, derivative, and options trading.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:  Familiarity with three-tier web applications: HTML, XML, client-side Javascript, Java servlets, SQL, Oracle or other relational databases.

In this job, you act as a communication bridge between business users and the technical team in the development of web-based trading applications.  During requirements gathering, you interview business users to determine  business and system requirements. You write up and model the requirements in use cases, UML diagrams, screen prototypes with UI specs, and in a requirement management tool (Caliber). You participate in review meetings and keep these documents up-to-date as the requirements are refined.  During development, you help the lead architect decompose the system into components, answer questions from individual developers, and generally ensure the technical team is building what the business team requires.










Comments:

Start Date:  Immediately
Length of Assignment:  6 months
Possible Contract to Hire
Shift/Hours:  8 am to 5 pm
Contractor will not have to work overtime, travel, provide on-call support or
wear a pager.
